Guest Instructors

  • Emily Bryan

    (Lima, Ohio) is a senior at the University of Dayton pursuing a dual-degree in Pre-Medicine and Dance with a minor in Neuroscience. She is currently a second company dancer at Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. She was a dance artist with University of Dayton Dance Ensemble from 2020 – 2023. She served as guest artist with Onyx Contemporary Dance Company (OCDC) as a performer and guest choreographer in which her work “When A Heart Opens” was presented at OCDC’s fall (2022) and spring (2023) repertory concert and Regional Dance America Festival. Her most recent work "How Do You Find The Light" was performed at OCDC's spring repertory concert this past February. Emily has taught at Dance Expressions, Miami Valley Dance Company, and The Arts Center.

  • Oliver Arana

    Oliver was born in Lima, Peru and began his career as a principal dancer with the Ballet Municipal De Lima under the direction of Lucy Telge. He went on to work with Vicente Nebrada, at the Nacional Ballet De Caracas of Venezuela. He was invited to join the Ballet Classico De Camara, under the direction of Nina Novak where had the honor of alternating principal roles with Fernando Bujones and Carlos Acosta, and touring all of South America and parts of Europe. After coming to the United States in 1993, he joined The Bay Ballet Theatre as a principal dancer under the direction of Christopher Flemming, continued his career with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet, and then in 1998 Mr Arana joined The Cincinnati Ballet under the direction of Victoria Morgan.

    Oliver Arana Teacher and Director at NCYB 2006 – 2018 Awards and Achievements, YAGP Outstanding Teacher Award, YAGP Senior Grand Prix Denver, YAGP Youth Grand Prix Chicago, YAGP Many top 12 through the years, Cincinnati Overture Winners and finalists, World Ballet Competition Silver, Bronze medalist, NCYB students now dancing professionally at Norwegian National Ballet, Boston Ballet, Royal Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet MamLuft&Co. Dance.

    Students have received scholarships to Royal Ballet School London, Ballet West Academy, National Ballet of Canada, Indiana University, Houston Ballet II, American Ballet Theatre (JKO School), Munich Ballet Academy, University of South Carolina, Orlando Ballet School, Princess Grace Academy of Classical Dance, The Kirov Academy, Chautaugua, Boston Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School and Joffrey Ballet New York. Students have been accepted to La Scala Ballet Academy Milan, San Francisco Ballet School, School of American Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School.

  • Robert Pulido

    Robert joined DCDC (Dayton Contemporary Dance Company) in 2015 after he graduated from California State University of Fullerton with a BA degree in dance. He performed in the Dance Teacher’s Summit and Capezio A.C.E. Awards and in The Nutcracker under director Lois Ellyn of Nouveau Chamber Ballet.

    In 2016, he performed in Donald McKayle’s Rainbow Round My Shoulder at David H. Koch Theatre in Lincoln Center in New York City.

    Mr. Pulido was a teacher’s assistant at the Los Angeles Dance Connection, where he trained for 10 years.

    The choreographer who has most influenced him is Alvin Rangel, who has worked with DCDC: “His movement flows continuously with a few surprises here and there. He made me use and adapt the floor to my body.”

  • Julia Stultz

    Julia Stultz is a 2023 Miami Valley Dance Center alumna. She currently attends Oklahoma City University, where she trains in jazz, tap, hip-hop, and more. During high school, she was a part of the Miami Valley Dance Force, Onyx Contemporary Dance Company, and Ohio Elite Tap Company. She has a passion for teaching younger dancers and has four years of teaching experience at MVDC. This summer, she will be teaching Intermediate tap, jazz, and lyrical, along with leaps and turns and a heels class!

  • Lisi Reynolds

    Miss Lisi Reynolds is a native of the polynesian island of Western Samoa🇼🇸 Faith and worship in Jesus is central in the Samoan culture and throughout Polynesia, integrated in songs, dance and community gatherings. Since childhood the knowledge of various polynesian island cultures and its unique styles of dance and songs, which include Samoa, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Tonga, Fiji has been through osmosis. She has passionately shared her culture with her children and extended family and the community for over three decades. She is the director of Ke Aloha Entertainment, whose members include both daughters, several MVDC Dance Force and OCDC. KAE performances have been an authentic luau, Concert Days at Fairborn Community Park, birthday parties and outreach events. Polynesian dance focuses on storytelling and musicality and moving in harmony as one family. Miss Lisi’s classes assisted by Miss Kiona and Miss Keilani reiterate the importance of cultivating strong family relationships and fellowship that secures the polynesian culture will succeed onto the next generations.
